The film is about the universal phenomenon - Generetion Gap. In this film an ageing couple visits their two married children in Tokyo.Their reception ,however is disappointing: too busy to entertain them, their children send them off to the hot springs.But later the mother fells ill. From a simple tale unfolds one of the greatest of all Japanese films.
